Idea:
Create a cutaway display that replicates the in-home installation of a sump pump and battery backup system. Include outlet, plumbing pipe and drainage tile.
Reality:
The process began with two prototypes being produced. One was produced from sintra with the other being from melamine. All surfaces were digitally printed including a clear acrylic front to protect the product inside the display. After the prototypes, some modifications were made and the unit was ready for production. In the end the unit was produced from melamine and all visible surfaces were laminated with a graphic. The front acrylic was printed 2nd surface and all other components were modified for display purposes. Each unit was individually boxed for shipping to home improvement stores.
